Use These Terrorism Adversities To
Bolster Your Corporate Strengths
Although we all need gentle reminders and a firm kick in the rear end to get back on track and stay with the plan, September 11th 2001 was more than a reminder. The events of Christmas Day, 2009 showed that the terrorist will go to any extreme to harm the West and especially the United States of America. We all remember our parents and teachers firmly instilling the facts that we would never forget. It is time we do this again! American business is letting its guard slip far too low and the results will be devastating to say the least. What will the next target be?
Distraction is the way the enemy wins over you. Complacency is our biggest fear; yes some of you have forgotten just how awful these terrorist can be. Just because we have not had an attack in six months or more, does not mean that you must go back to the days of naivety and arrogance. It happened to us all and it will happen again. No this is not fear mongering, it is a hard firm fact that the terrorist will dupe you into a false sense of security, as they are doing right now. Don’t fall into the trap of doing nothing or backing off spending dollars on bolstering your internal and external security.
Creating a plan and then enacting the final preparedness plans are vital and gives your corporation a level of teamwork you may never have had before. Let this professional mode continue into the daily marketing and customer service departments. For instance the in-house training on receiving a bomb threat telephone call will assist others to understand that you must listen more to what is exactly said and stated. We may think we listen, but do we? Or are we guilty of the Yada, Yada syndrome? By listening, especially in the “threat scenario” you will glean so much information and isn’t that what we should be doing with our day-to-day customers too?
Our future is what we make it and yes, we have heard that over and over again and ignore the fact that it is so true! Disaster can strike anywhere and at any time and 76% of all corporations are still to this day unprepared and placing employees and customers in harm’s way.
Stop and think of the consequence, that is if you really believe in what you do.
