THE DANGER OF APATHY
No one should underestimate the danger of apathy to the maintenance of democracy. Yet all the signs are there of the sustained growth of indifference to the right of all citizens to protect what is precious to them. Even the vote in elections is at its lowest ever. One of the most significant features of this American mid-term election, which, in terms of performance, will be in voter turnout. It seems no one cares!
The world changed on September 11th 2001 and if you walked the streets of Any City, USA you would never know it. Talk to most folks and they can’t remember last week, but the danger to our society and us as individuals is ominous and real. Western civilization is hated by a select few who will go to wildest extreme including death, to make their obnoxious point.
Killers live among us. It could be your next-door neighbor, local shop owner, your co-worker or the man you stand next to at the Post Office. Sleeper cells are here and just waiting to be commanded or act upon their own volition. This is not some hype that SSAF International Ltd. decides to put out, it is fact!
Prevention is better than cure; remember what your momma used to tell you? It seems some of you don’t! It is your moral right to protect all that enters your building and company, not just from the OSHA point of view, but also from the possibilities of terrorist attacks.
Apathy soon goes out the window when something like a terrorist attack takes place and you see the carnage left behind. Just ask the party revelers in Bali if they would have wished for better security. By the way, this is not “I want to thump the message home security bulletin”, it is pure facts!
I haave been hearing the word apathy so many times from so many different people, it made me think and think really hard. It made me question if our staff were doing their Duty of Care and responsibility of informing you of the dangers?
You see, we don’t come in second to anyone, not even terrorists!
It is time to look in the mirror and make sure you don’t have “APATHY” stamped on your forehead. To further align my statement and keep in the vein of wireless cell phone advertisements,
“Can You Hear Me NOW? Good!”
