SSAF International's results were amplified by the SSAF security window film’s natural performance and achievements from the IRA attacks upon the London International Stock Exchange building in 1990. The massive bombs on surrounding buildings on the Baltic Exchange, Bishop’s Gate and Canary Wharf in 1992, 1993 and 1996 again showed the success of the perfection of SSAF’s products and services.
When inventing security window films, SSAF International always knew that they would work to their best ability when called into action, no matter how many years previously they had been installed and applied.
It is the expansion over the years of SSAF International into the understanding of the terrorist and their mindset that has lead them to the overall expertise of protection. Airport security from physical to procedures, law enforcement mentality and advanced techniques of prevention and access have dominated their focus.
It is SSAF International Ltd.’s stated policy to refuse any project, however large or prestigious, rather than to risk prejudicing the Company’s reputation for providing the highest possible level of protection. Any short-term financial gain could only be made at the expense of those persons paying to place their trust in SSAF International's expertise.
Spain played a large part in the expansion program in 1979 and during the next three years airports and government offices were protected. The 1990’s ushered in an era of new projects and its intention to expand its overall security business paid off.
The Airport industry in Europe was looking toward increasing its protection, especially Spain. Work was completed at the Spanish airports to protect against the ongoing ETA threat. ETA is one of the longest running terror groups in the world today, during the regime of Dictator General Franco (1939-1975), the Spanish government repressed or banned virtually all expressions of the Basque national identity or political expression. In 1959, a Basque separatist movement emerged called Euskadi Ta Aaskatasuna—ETA (meaning Basque Fatherland and Freedom). In 1968, a faction known as ETA-Militar (ETA-M) resorted to an armed struggle for independence. One of their first efforts was an attempt to derail a train carrying Spanish Civil War veterans to a celebration. The Franco regime clamped down with road closures, house searches, and arrests and torture of suspected civilians. As is usually in these cases, these tactics encouraged support for the militant separatists. Car bombs were the main concern and protection was needed and SSAF supplied the product, installation and final secure barrier against the terrorists.
British airports are protected by SSAF in the same way. Heathrow is a prime example of the knowledge and expertise of SSAF International and the special needs of airports. Over 350 airports worldwide are protected to date by SSAF International products and services.
The transportation attacks worldwide have not ceased. Spain and the train station attack, London and the Underground and bus attack in 2007 and numerous other airline attacks including Richard Reid and ther last attack on Christmas Day 2009 just to name but a few. Thank goodness they failed, but only just!
Airport security has to change and the American mindset of sending in the Cavalry has got to stop! It is the preventive measures that will save the day, not the reactive actions that bring mayhem to all.
SSAF International has the answers to change the transportation security aspects in one fell swoop. It is simplistic, informative and acceptable when the general public understand that their safety is at hand. It is the creation of a COMFORT ZONE in how their trembling FEAR FACTOR is removed.
